  • MBBS: The eligibility criteria for applying for MBBS Entrance in India is at least 50% in PCB Physics, Chemistry Biology and English in Higher Secondary or 10+2 exams. Every year approximate 5 Lakh students sit for the MBBS entrance exam for 32000 seats. The Duration of the MBBS course is 4.5 years after which it is mandatory for the students to undergo a Residential Internship which takes around 12 months.
  • BDS: The Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS] is an undergraduate course in the field of dentistry. The duration of Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS] is 4 years followed by 1 year of the internship period. The eligibility for this undergraduate course is scoring a minimum of 50% in senior secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. India has about 300 colleges which offer BDS courses.
  • BHMS: BHMS is an undergraduate academic degree course of 5 years in the sector of Homoeopathy and can be done after 10+2 with 50% marks in aggregate and to get admission into this an entrance examination must be cleared.
  • BAMS: Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) is graduate degree awarded after the study of five and a half years duration, including 1-year internship. The Ayurvedic Colleges of India awards the Degree of "Ayurvedacharya”. BAMS requires subjects with a combination of Sanskrit, Physics, Chemistry, Biology in Higher Secondary education. The curriculum includes studying Ayurveda topics along with the Principles of Medicine, Modern Anatomy and Physiology, ENT, Surgery etc.

There are various fields of specializations for the students of medicine to choose from apart from general practice, to name few:

  • General Medicine : General Practitioners diagnose everyday sundry ailments and perform the role of the family doctor.
  • General Surgery : General surgeons are medical doctors who have completed a residency in general surgery. Their training requires at least 12 years of postsecondary education. Surgeons diagnose and repair diseases that require surgical intervention.
  • Dermatology : Dermatologists are physician specialists who diagnose and treat disorders of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes along with hair transplants and other laser operated procedures are undertaken in both children and adults and is a highly competitive medical fields that requires many years of education and training.
  • Psychiatry : Psychiatry is the branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental disorders that include behavioural, cognitive, and perceptual abnormalities.
  • Pediatrics : Pediatric doctors or Pediatricians specialize in treating ailments and illnesses of children such as soar throat, pink eye, colds and chicken pox and help them stay healthy.
  • Cardiology : A cardiologist deals with the diseases related to the heart and the Circulatory system. It is a super specialty done after MD or DNB Medicine.
  • Obstetrics/Gynecologist : They deal with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions specific to the female reproductive system from the point of conceiving to the delivery of the baby that reds to be monitored for the course of 9 months. These professionals must be available for emergency calls and for childbirth. After clearing MBBS the student needs to pursue a 3 years post graduation Degree (MD/MS) and 2 years for DGO in Gynecology after Medical entrance examination for India, state ,university or institute level).
  • Anesthesiology : Anesthesiologists are responsible for providing pain relief to patients and monitoring patients' vital signs during surgery and requires a great deal of expertise and educational background.
  • Orthopedics : An Orthopedic doctor deals with are broken bones and specialize in the muscles, ligaments, bones, tendons, joints and nerves, which let our bodies move. While an Orthopaedic surgeons deals with musculoskeletal issues, central nervous system issues such as injuries, deformities, tumors, infections, degenerative disease etc. To pursue a course in this field the candidate is required to complete M.B.B.S followed by an all India level test for Post-Graduation, qualifying which, the candidate becomes eligible for pursuing the course.
  • ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) : The ENT doctors deal with the diseases of Ear, Nose and Throat regions and requires an MBBS with MD.
  • Neurology: Treats diseases and diseases and disorder related to the brain and the nervous system and treat patients suffering from disorders of the brain. It’s a super specialty field and the process to become a Neurologist requires to take a Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) or MBBS followed by 3 years of internship and then a residency program.
  • Pathology : Is the branch if medicine that investigates the cause of various diseases and the possibilities for their presentation, the degree course in Pathology requires MBBS + MD in Pathology.

The Bachelor of Science Program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Three-Year (Six Semesters) full time regular course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The program also involves in depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety and Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.


  • Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
  • H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration and nine other structured courses of study that are imparted at the existing 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 16 State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management, 14 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT. Eight Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country offer Diploma programs in specific operational areas. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the different professional programs.
